South Hills is licensed as a private school through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. It is also licensed to provide a full day preschool through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, the licensing entity for all childcare centers in the state. In 2001, South Hills was granted national accreditation through the NAEYC. South Hills has the distinction of a staff whose members are all certified teachers with a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Teachers are required to complete additional course work on an annual basis.
